Itβs a simple man coverage answer that gives the QB clean options based on matchup and leverage. Below is a breakdown of the Fade / Post-Wheel extra point pass play for flag football.
ππ±ππ«π ππ¨π’π§π Pass Play for 5v5 Flag Football
A lot of times against man coverage, youβll see defenders pressed up tight. One of my favorite answers is Slant-Arrow to the two-receiver side with a Fade on the single-receiver side.
If we like the matchup on the single-receiver side, or the defender is sitting with heavy inside leverage, weβre going to take the fade. The QB puts it high and outside, away from the defender, giving our receiver a chance to go win the ball while keeping it in a spot where only he can make a play.
1: Fade route.
2: Sit route- sit between the inside and outside defender. (pull the inside defender outside to clear the slant window.
3: Arrow route- underneath the 4.
4: Slant route (no stem)- over the top of the 3.
QB: 1 to 4 to 3.

To the Slant-Arrow side, itβs all about leverage. If the defender is not taking away the inside release, weβll hit the slant. If the defender is sitting inside on the inside receiver, weβll throw the arrow and let our receiver win quickly to the flat.
This is one of the best extra point pass plays for 5v5 flag football. Most defenses will be in man coverage down on the goal-line. This passing concept will allow you to beat pressed up man coverage! It’s a short yardage play for all age levels.
